Tucson Tamale plans location on NW side
Tucson Tamale Co. will open its third Tucson location this fall in the old home of Jax Kitchen on the northwest side.
The 2,400-square-foot shop at 7286 N. Oracle Road is expected to open in October, joining Tucson Tamale Co.’s six-year-old original location at 2545 E. Broadway and its five-month-old second location at 7159 E. Tanque Verde Road.
The new shop will continue Tucson Tamale’s tradition of rolling tamales fresh daily on-site.
Alaska Airlines adds new flights to Seattle
Alaska Airlines plans to add a new weekly nonstop flight between Tucson and Seattle on Saturdays this winter, Tucson International Airport officials said.

The new weekly flight will join a daily nonstop that starts Nov. 8. The Saturday nonstops will start Dec. 6 and end March 7. Alaska also operates a daily nonstop flight between Tucson and Portland, Ore.
Raytheon wins
$275 million contract
Tucson-based Raytheon Missile Systems has won a $275 million, three-year contract for fiscal 2014 procurement of Standard Missile-6 ship-defense missiles and spare parts and containers for the earlier SM-2 version.
About a third of the work will be performed in Tucson under the contract. The work is expected to be completed by March 2017, the Pentagon said in a contract notice.
The rest of the work will be spread out to other sites.
