Q: I have Windows 7 on my PC. When using Internet Explorer, I can't go to the Page heading and click on "send page by e-mail" or "send link by e-mail." Can you help?
A: If you're working with a new PC, this probably means you haven't specified an e-mail program to use. But if you've used these features before and they don't work now, the problem probably is caused by downloaded enhancements to Internet Explorer, such as toolbars.
To specify an e-mail program for Internet Explorer to use (Microsoft Outlook or another program on your PC), go to the Start button, choose Default Programs on the right, and click "set program access and computer defaults." Click the arrow icon to the right of Custom and pick a default e-mail program.
But if the Internet Explorer "send page" and "send link" functions have quit working, you can return the browser to its original settings. While that's easily done, there are consequences. You are likely to disable features you've added to the browser, such as toolbars, and eliminate any customized privacy or security settings you've set up in the browser's Internet Options section.

You'll also lose things stored in the browser, such as passwords, cookies (software that automatically identifies you to websites), and your browsing history (a list of previously visited websites). If you want those things back, you'll have to restore them manually.
To reset Internet Explorer, go to the Tools heading, click on Internet Options and choose the Advanced tab. Then click on the Reset button next to "Reset Internet Explorer settings."
