A trio of comedy shows is heading our way this weekend including competing shows on Friday, Oct. 2, that have us thinking it’s coin-toss time:
Heads, we’re hanging with Peanut and Walter at Desert Diamond Casino for comic ventriloquist Jeff Dunham’s “Artificial Intelligence” show.
Dunham, who has been a regular to Tucson going back to his early days playing long weekend gigs at Laffs Comedy Caffe, is introducing Clive to his gang of motley misfits — the OGs Peanut and Walter, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Bubba J and José Jalapeño on a Stick.
Clive is a British critic of all things arts and culture and American, from our politics to our gun laws.

The show, which Dunham launched last year, also pokes its share of fun at Artificial Intelligence and its foibles.
Dunham goes on stage at Desert Diamond Casino, 1100 W. Pima Mine Road, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $80-$135 through ddcaz.com.

Tails, we’re downtown at Rialto Theatre reveling in Whitney Cummings’ trials and tribs of late-in-life single motherhood.
Cummings’ “Big Baby Tour” dives into Cummings’ “unfiltered physical and emotional toll” of having her son Henry at age 40. Expect to hear her humorous takes on postpartum depression, hair loss and body changes that come with a "geriatric pregnancy” while she reflects on her decision to wait to have a child.
Cummings’s show at the Rialto, 318 E. Congress St., starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35-$64.45 through rialtotheatre.com.

On Sunday, Oct. 4, La Rosa hosts comedian and satirist Patton Oswalt, whose “Effervescent Tour” delves into aging and raising a teenage daughter, the world of conspiracies, America’s political divide and the intersection of imagination and reality courtesy of Artificial Intelligence.

At a Maryland show in June, Oswalt wondered out loud why his name was mentioned in the Epstein files and lamented his recent obsession with doomsday preppers on YouTube. His show includes Oswalt slipping into characters that comment on the state of political affairs and the absurdity of some decisions coming out of Washington.
Oswalt’s show at La Rosa, 800 N. Country Club Road, starts at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets for the 21-and-older show start at $61.81 through larosa.org.
