Developed in Glasgow, Scotland, at the June 2014 Cyclehack weekend, Penny in Yo’ Pants solves the age-old problem of the female bike rider: the skirt.

For all of its passion for bicycles, Tucson does not peddle much in the way of commuter chic. This town is still mostly about recreational cycling, says Kylie Walzak, program manager with the Living Streets Alliance and Cyclovia Tucson coordinator.

Transit Cycles, 100 S. Avenida del Convento, Suite 116, in the Mercado San Agustín, sells a range of bicycles and accessories intended for commuters and needs votes for its recent nomination for a 2014 Interbike Award in the category of best urban and lifestyle bike shop.
“I just wear clothes,” Walzak says of her 12-minute, one-mile commute to work. “If you choose your bicycle correctly, you don’t need to wear anything special.”
