Bob Riccitello likes to take a break from work every day and swim between 80 and 100 laps at the Morris K. Udall Park swimming pool at 7200 E. Tanque Verde Road.
Riccitello was on his high school swim team and these days swims to stay in shape. Riccitello is a veterinarian at Wiseman Animal Hospital and Boarding Kennel on East Speedway.
"It's nice to get away from work for an hour or two and get outside a bit," he said.
The pool is heated to 82 degrees, which makes swimming in the winter more pleasant, said pool supervisor Samantha Green.
This year she has developed an aquatic fitness class called Fluid Bliss, which incorporates yoga, Pilates and tai chi for an overall workout.
Green says she wants people to get a "gentle cardio workout, flexibility and peace of mind" from the class. It will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 6.
