The former PTA president arrested for attempting to take photos of a teenage girl in the dressing room of a clothing store has been sentenced to probation.
Aaron Lee Garibay pleaded guilty earlier this year to attempted voyeurism in Pima County Superior Court in connection with the April incident.
Pima County Superior Court Judge Javier Chon-Lopez sentenced Garibay to two years probation. The offense was left open, meaning the court did not designate it a felony.
If Garibay completes probation without additional legal troubles, after three years, the court can designate the offense a misdemeanor.
Defense attorney Jacob Amaru said he believes Garibay would do well on probation and does not present a risk to the community.
Garibay, 32, was arrested in April after he was seen holding a cellphone over the dressing room partition of an east-side thrift store. The teen and her mother confronted Garibay at the store, then later called police.

Store surveillance video also showed Garibay attempting to take photos over the partition.
He was president of the PTA at Steele Elementary School, in the Tucson Unified School District.
