One of three men wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a Tucson police recruit was arrested early Saturday morning, authorities say.
Santiago Jorge Rogers, 39, was arrested on a warrant for first-degree murder. He was apprehended at a hotel in the 4800 block of South Palo Verde Road, near East Irvington Road and Interstate 10, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
Rogers was taken into custody without incident and with assistance from the FBI, the release said. He is currently being held at the Pima County jail.
Investigators are still searching for Alex James Barnett, 33, and a third unidentified man who were captured on surveillance video before and after the shooting.

Just before 6 a.m. on Aug. 19, Carlos Ramirez, 23, was found shot dead inside his home in a residential neighborhood near West Valencia Road and South Camino Verde. His fiancée, a 23-year-old corrections officer, was shot and wounded in the incident, the Sheriff's Department has said. No possible motive for the shooting has been provided.
Ramirez, a former corrections officer, was days away from completing the academy to join the Tucson Police Department. The couple's child was inside the home at the time of the shooting.
