Hours: Available 24/7.
Owner: Shelley Seyfried-Bourg.
Years in business: 5+.
Q: About this business:
A: Professional pet and home care while owners are away. I provide food, water, clean-up, play and brushing of pets, TLC. I change lighting and shades, take trash and recycle bins out and in, bring mail and papers inside and give homes the appearance that the owners are not away. My specialty is feline care - I have several of my own and KNOW cats!
Q: What makes your business tick?
A: I love what I do - it is not "work" but my love of animals that makes each day special. All my clients know I treat theirs as if they were my own. I am happy when clients and pets are, and I weep when clients lose a beloved pet. My greatest compliments are from clients who refer others to me. I am featured in Samuel Greengard's book "Finding the Work you Love," published by Sterling in 2008.

Q: Who's your average customer?
A: Individuals who travel for business and pleasure; most of my referrals are from my vet (I care for her cats). Others see my little blue VW with magnets on it and call to see what Meow, Woof and Tweet is.
Q: What other jobs have you had?
A: I spent 30 years as legal assistant.
Q: What led you to this business?
A: I "retired" from the legal field but knew I would do something. Quite by accident I fell into pet sitting after two weeks and worked with and for my pet sitter. Having had my own legal service businesses (in Colorado and New Mexico), knew I could be successful and decided to follow my heart by working with and caring for animals.
Q: Where will your company be a year from now?
A: Meow, Woof and Tweet continues to grow each year, and while the economy has hit all businesses, I anticipate maintaining my existing clients and having more new ones.
