Why are you running? I have been the constable for the last 12 years and feel there is still lots of work to do. While the constable I have, along with other constables from the office and the state, have pushed for legislation to make the constable more accountable. We have been successful in passing legislation for an ethics committee and an increase in training, I was a member of the ethics committee and then chairman.
What unique qualities do you have that will help you, if elected? Having been the constable for the last 12 years. My experience prior to being elected I have over 22 years with the Pima County Sheriff's Department. During my time with the Sheriff's Department I was assigned to homicide, burglar, patrol, and spent 16 years as a member of the SWAT Team. I received awards for detective of the month and Elks officer of the year.
What changes, if any, would you like to see implemented once elected? As one of ten constables in Pima County any change will be a group effort as in the past. All your constables are involved in the daily operation of the office. I look forward to being re-elected and continue moving the office forward to better serve the residents of Pima County.
