The redevelopment of the former Foothills Mall on the city’s northwest side is taking shape with its first hotel well underway.
Tempo by Hilton Tucson Uptown, near West Ina Road and North La Cholla Boulevard, will be a five-story, 144-room hotel in the Uptown project.
The hotel will have 3,000 square feet of meeting and function space, private dining and boardroom, second-level pool deck, fitness center and café and bar.
At buildout, Uptown, being developed locally by Bourn Cos., will include hotels, apartments, restaurants, retail, entertainment and office space.
One apartment complex, Astrie Uptown, is complete and leasing units.

The Tempo hotel celebrated its “topping out” milestone, marking the completion of its vertical structure. It is expected to open at the beginning of 2027.
It is the first of what could be up to three hotels at the site, developers say.
