Arizona guard Caleb Love was named the Big 12's Player of the Week, the first time the Wildcats have had a weekly award winner in their new conference, after leading UA to a pair of wins that put them in a first-place tie with Houston.
Love hit a 60-foot buzzer beater at the end of regulation, and two 3-pointers in overtime, to help UA beat then-third-ranked Iowa State 86-75 on Jan. 27. Then he added 27 points in UA's 81-72 win at ASU on Saturday.

Over the two games last week, Love averaged 24.5 points, 51.6% shooting (including 40.9% from 3-point range), 3.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.0 turnovers.
Baylor's Robert Wright was named the conference's Newcomer of the Week, after averaging 23.0 points and 6.0 assists in the Bears' overtime loss at BYU and their 81-70 home win over Kansas. Wright scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half against Kansas, helping Baylor overcome a 19-point halftime deficit.

Arizona had nominated freshman Carter Bryant for the Newcomer of the Week Award. Over UA's two games, Bryant averaged 11.0 points while shooting 46.7% from the field (including 6 of 10 3-pointers) and averaged 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 3.0 steals while committing 1.5 average turnovers.
