On Sunday, the No. 14 Wildcats (17-5) rallied from their first deficit of the tournament to beat Long Beach State 12-2 in five innings.
Long Beach had previously beaten then-No. 4 Oklahoma 6-4 on Feb. 21.
Arizona head coach Caitlin Lowe felt like the tourney was a complete performance for the Wildcats, on offense, defense and in the circle.
“It felt good to watch them kind of let loose a little bit, and we really didn't take a lot of hard pitches,” Lowe said. “I think that was my biggest thing is, we just went for it when the ball was in the zone and even when we were missing … our outs were tough outs the whole time because we were going for it, so it didn't feel like there was really ever a time this weekend that we had kind of a lull where we were making outs the same way.

Then they added a two-run single by sophomore infielder Jenna Sniffen, an RBI single by sophomore outfielder Addison Duke and an RBI single from junior utility Regan Shockey.
In the second inning, Kavanagh hit a 2-run homer. Sniffen then hit a 2-run dinger in the fourth inning.
“We just put the team first in every category, defense, offense,” Sniffen said. “So just understanding like where we're at as a team and we can have the ability to put a lot of runs in an inning and just keep on going.”

Arizona responded with a leadoff home run by Kavanagh in the home half of the fourth.
Adams ended up getting credit for pitching five innings, surrendering three hits and a walk.
Kavanagh said the mercy-rule wins come from playing inning by inning, like on Sunday when Long Beach scored a couple of times in the first, and Arizona responded with eight runs in the home half of the frame.
“We don’t even look at the total runs,” Kavanagh said. “I think we go inning by inning, which is something big for us, seeing like they put up a two-spot, we’re able to put up an eight spot and we feel like we took the momentum back and that's kind of where these run rules come from.”
On Friday, Arizona beat Long Beach State, 8-0, in five innings, hitting three home runs, six in total in the doubleheader.
