You already have to buy a Halloween costume AND bags of candy this month, a fun weekend shouldnโ€™t have to hurt your pockets too! Whether youโ€™re window shopping at a witchy market or enjoying all kinds of cultural performances at Tucson Meet Yourself, there are lots of events this month that are budget-friendly!

Below is a round-up of some of the free events happening around town in October.

Oktoberfest at Trail Dust Town

Local breweries will be pouring drinks at Trail Dust Town's Oktoberfest celebration this weekend. German food, including brats and pretzels, will be on the menu. While admission is free, tickets are on sale for beer tastings, food and amusement rides.

Arizona Insect Festival

Back for another year, the Arizona Insect Festival, which is hosted by the University of Arizona's Department of Entomology, hopes to encourage understanding of our local insects. Experience interactive exhibits and learn about insects!ย

A cyclist pops a wheelie during Cyclovia Tucson along Sixth Avenue. Living Streets Alliance, a nonprofit, puts on the event to promote cycling and other forms of transportation.

Enjoy a day of car-free streets, where you can walk, bike or skate your way through Tucson neighborhoods. It's essentially a big block party where you'll find activity hubs and food vendors along the route.
