The beauty-supply retailer Sephora is opening a 5,600-square-foot store at the Tucson Mall this November.
The store, which will sell high-end cosmetics, fragrances and skin-care products, will be on the second floor of the mall near the new entrance, said store director Angie Davis.
The new entrance is under construction in the area where Macy's was located before being demolished last October.
Sephora's grand opening will be Nov. 14, Davis said.
"This is a remote market for Sephora; we've never come this far south," Davis said. But the company got feedback that there was demand for its products in Tucson, Davis said.
The store will provide an additional option for consumers at the mall, Senior General Manager Ted Newkirk said in an e-mail.

"We are thrilled Sephora will be opening their first full-line store in the Tucson market at Tucson Mall," Newkirk wrote.
The company has 671 stores worldwide and has plans to open 44 stores in 2009, Davis said. Tucson could be one of the places that gets an additional store, she said.
Sephora offers products spanning dozens of beauty brands, including Bare Escentuals, Stila and Smashbox makeup; Cosmedicine, Philosophy and Dr. Brandt skin-care lines; and fragrances from Dior, DKNY, Aquolina and Sean John, in addition to Sephora's own brand.
Sephora also has a 1,500-square-foot store-within-a-store at the JC Penney at the Tucson Spectrum mall on the South Side. That shop opened Oct. 3 at the mall at 5265 S. Calle Santa Cruz, near West Irvington Road.
