TCC: The Verizon premium wireless retailer presented checks on Friday, Jan. 29, to three Tucson nonprofits. The donations, totaling $9,000, went to Tucson Cause for Canines, Higher Ground and Erik Hite Foundation. The donations marked TCC’s grand opening in Tucson, at 1580 E. Tucson Marketplace Blvd., No. 160.
Vantage West Credit Union: The credit union has opened the application window (at vantagewest.org/scholarship) for its scholarship program, which will award $1,000 each to 10 college-bound students in May, twice as many as offered in 2015. Application deadline is April 9, 2016. Recipients or a parent must be Vantage West members.
Southwest Women’s Charitable Club: The 58-year-old nonprofit donated $6,862 in 2015. Its main goal each year is to sponsor a University of Arizona nursing student with a scholarship. It also donated to Sister Jose’s Women’s House, Youth On Their Own, HOPE, Live Theatre Workshop and others, the club’s corresponding secretary, Carolyn Y. Skinner, said in a news release.
