Burlington Coat Factory is hiring about 70 people for its new store at El Con Mall, set to open March 5.
A company representative will be on site to pass out applications and schedule interviews in the former Dillard's at El Con, 3601 E. Broadway, Mondays and Tuesdays, and Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., said Burlington Coat Factory district general manager Scott Erfert.
He said some people from Burlington's other sites are being brought in for the opening, but that a full local staff will be hired by next month's grand opening.
Erfert wouldn't state starting pay for positions but said the company's pay range is "competitive in the market."
Despite the name, Burlington is a full-line department store that carries clothing, shoes, linens, home decor, and baby and maternity merchandise.

Erfert said the 65,000-square-foot former Dillard's space "is actually a little small. We usually do closer to 80,000 square feet."
There are four Burlington stores in the Phoenix area and one in Yuma. This will be the first in Tucson.
Although the grand opening is March 5, Erfert said the store may do an earlier "soft opening."
