Tucson is the first stop on legendary glam rockers Kiss's 2016 summertime 'Freedom to Rock' tour.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Kiss lead guitarist Tommy Thayer announced, "Gettin' ready to take the rock to the road! KISS #FreedomToRock tour starts July 4th in Tucson." Earlier announcements had the tour starting July 7 in Boise, Idaho.
Tickets for the show at the AVA at Casino del Sol go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14. No prices were listed for general admission, but VIP packages start at $325 and a VIP with a meet-and-greet are $1,250.

Tucson was No. 2 on the band's itinerary when it criss-crossed the country on its 2000 Farewell Tour. That was the last time we saw Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and Co. in Tucson, but the farewell tour was short-lived. Although they haven't done extensive, drawn-out tours, the band has continued to tour with Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer replacing founding members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley.
