Just in time to boost fall wardrobes, Marshalls has opened an online store.
Marshalls.com will feature brand-name designer apparel, shoes and home goods similar to what is found in the chain's more than 1,100 discount stores. But the new online store also will offer a "unique mix" of fresh brands and merchandise shoppers won't find in stores, the company said in a news release.
For convenience, customers will be able to return online merchandise to stores for free, or by mail. Those who sign up for emails can initially get free shipping. After that, it's free with $89 purchases.
The interactive website will have curated collections, such as the "Designer Shop," "Fall Style Shop" and "Made in Italy," which will be frequently updated with new merchandise. A "swipe to shop" feature will allow mobile shoppers to quickly view and sort products to buy or save for later.

The site also features Instagram posts from shoppers touting recent purchases using the hashtag #MarshallsSurprise.
"We are thrilled to introduce Marshalls.com, which allows customers to shop Marshalls anytime," said Mark DeOliveira, executive vice president of TJX Digital US. "This site will feature a unique assortment of the brands and values that Marshalls is known for, and also offer customers the ability to shop through fun, interactive features and curations. We are excited for customers to experience the brand in this new way."
The chain is owned by Framingham, Mass.-based TJX Companies, which operates T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods and Sierra stores. TJ Maxx launched its online outlet in 2013.
