The Primavera Foundation, Inc. and Travelers Aid Society of Tucson Inc. have joined forces under the name the Primavera Foundation, a nonprofit community-based organization.
The organizations merged to "take the basic aspects from Primavera and the Travelers Aid Society and make more of a difference in the community," said Peggy Hutchison, who is executive director of The Primavera Foundation.
The transition to one organization will begin immediately and become fully implemented July 1, 2007 - the start of the fiscal year.
Founded in 1982, the Primavera Foundation itself was a community-based organization that provides programs for the homeless and other people living in poverty.
Travelers Aid Society of Tucson Inc., which was founded in 1982, was a nonprofit organization that also assisted Tucson's homeless and near-homeless population.
