TUCSON, Ariz. (Aug. 6, 2026) – For the fourth consecutive year, Banner – University Medical Center Tucson has been recognized as Tucson's #1 hospital by U.S. News & World Report in its 2026-2027 Best Hospitals rankings. The annual rankings recognize hospitals that deliver exceptional outcomes across specialties, procedures and patient care. Banner – University Medical Center Tucson also earned high-performing recognition in cancer (#1 in Tucson and #3 in Arizona) and geriatrics, along with nine procedures and conditions: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair; aortic valve surgery; colon cancer surgery; heart arrhythmia care; hip fracture; kidney failure; leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma; pneumonia; and prostate cancer surgery.
Banner – University Medical Center Tucson was also recognized as a Best Regional Hospital for Community Access, reflecting its commitment to expanding access to high-quality care throughout southern Arizona.
