Oro Valley voters will get to decide whether to recall Mayor Satish Hiremath.
Recall petitions have been certified and Hiremath is expected to be added to the Nov. 3 recall election ballot, according to a Town of Oro Valley news release.
Oro Valley Citizens for Open Government submitted recall signatures on June 24. The Pima County Recorder’s Office and the Oro Valley Clerk’s Office have determined the group submitted enough valid signatures to add Hiremath to the ballot.
Three Town Council members — Joe Hornat, Mary Snider and Lou Waters — also face recall in the election.
The group initiated the recall process after the Town Council voted 4-3 in December to buy El Conquistador Country Club and to increase the sales tax by a half-cent to raise money for renovation projects to turn it into a community center and recreation center.
