U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords reads the final chapter of her book in the audio version, set to be released the same day as the hardcover book on Nov. 15.
"Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope" is written by the 41-year-old congresswoman and her 47-year-old husband, retired astronaut Mark Kelly. The publisher is Scribner, which is an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
Kelly reads the book aloud in the audio version with his wife reading the last chapter, according to an image on Amazon.com and confirmation by Giffords' Tucson office Wednesday. Giffords has already recorded the chapter, her office said.
Giffords was shot through the left side of the head while meeting Jan. 8 with constituents in Tucson. Six people were killed and 13 were wounded in the shooting rampage.
The third-term Tucson congresswoman, a Democrat, has slowly emerged as her recovery from the near-fatal brain injury continues. Her office released the first photo of her in June. In August she appeared in Washington to vote on the debt-ceiling bill and earlier this month she attended her husband's military retirement ceremony, also in Washington.
