Two events raised $8,812 to help send kids to camp through the Arizona Daily Star's Sportsmen's Fund.
Last month's Fun Chili Cook-Off at Jonathan's Cork netted $7,312, and the 18th nearly consecutive Great Southwestern Wrinkleneck Invitational raised $1,500. The Wrinkleneck Invitational is a production of 75 "spirited gentlemen'' who gather for a fishing tournament in the White Mountains.
Sixteen chili heads made lip-smacking chili and included meat of all sorts.
Winning prizes were:
First place, Kathy Arrotta.
Second place, Julie Conrad.
Third place, Charles Blair and Michael McCord.
People's Choice, Kathy Arrotta.
Since 1947, the Star's Sportsmen's Fund has helped send more than 32,000 children to camp.

The Send a Kid to Camp program raises money so economically disadvantaged kids can go to YMCA, Boy Scout and Girl Scout camps and to the Camp Courage burn camp.
At least 97 cents of every dollar raised goes to send boys and girls to camp.
Your contribution is tax-deductible and qualifies with the state of Arizona for a charitable tax credit of up to $400.
