The death of a 43-year-old man who was found unresponsive after being restrained in a chair at the Pima County Jail is under investigation.Â
David Villavicencio was brought in by the Tucson Police Department on Thursday around 9:30 p.m. on drug-related charges. The Pima County Sheriff's Department says Villavicencio reported that he had "consumed alcohol heavily and used illegal drugs."Â
A news release said he also made suicidal statements.Â
Due to what the Sheriff's Department described as combative behavior, Villavicencio was placed in a restraint chair and, 90 minutes later, was found bleeding from the mouth and unresponsive during a check.Â
