Antoine King pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Tuesday in the shooting death of a friend's father.
In a related development, the friend, who was convicted in April of second-degree murder for hiring someone to kill his father, was denied a second trial Tuesday.
Ian Dawkins, 17, and King, then 17, originally faced first-degree-murder charges in Frank Dawkins Jr.'s death last May.
King now faces 10 to 22 years in prison at his sentencing in June.
Ian Dawkins' lawyers said during his April trial that he hired King to kill his father "because he couldn't pull the trigger himself," said prosecutor Lewis Brandes.
They said Dawkins was upset that his parents turned off his cell phone, and they called police each of the 17 times he ran away.

The defense said Dawkins didn't hire King, that King did on his own.
In a videotaped interview with police, Dawkins blamed the shooting on someone else, but then said King shot his father because Ian Dawkins couldn't pay the last $10 of a $50 loan.
King was scheduled to go to trial next week.
He will be sentenced by Judge Michael Cruikshank of Pima County Superior Court on June 25. Dawkins, who also faces 10 to 22 years, will be sentenced June 18.
