The Christines, an innovative flute and harp duo, will present a free concert Tuesday at Academy Village.
The concert will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the great room of the Arizona Senior Academy, 13715 E. Langtry Lane.
Christine Vivona, harp, and Christine Harper, flute, have been collaborating for two years and performing for a variety of audiences and occasions.
Their music includes classical works, jazz standards, popular and show tunes, Celtic music, contemporary and original pieces written for flute and harp and transcriptions of works written for other instruments.
"Flute and harp is such a wonderful combo - especially in the French Romantic period of music (19th century) when both instruments were being developed into what they are today," Vivona said.

Tuesday's concert will feature the music of Gabriel Faure, Argentine composer Asto Piazzolla ("Histoire du Tango"), Jacques Ibert and contemporary composer Vincent Persichetti ("Serenade No. 10").
Vivona studied the serenade with the composer while working toward her master of music degree at The Juilliard School. She also has a doctorate in harp performance from the University of Arizona.
Vivona is a member of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and the Tucson Chamber Artists. Every June she hosts a harp camp where students have the opportunity to study jazz, blues and rock in addition to traditional harp repertoires.
Harper has a bachelor of music degree in flute and piano from Indiana University and a master of music degree in flute performance from the UA. She has served as principal flutist with the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra since 1999.
Harper and Vivona both have teaching studios in Tucson. In August they will be featured performers at the National Flute Association's convention in Las Vegas.
