Tucson Hebrew High is gearing up for another dynamic year of Judaic studies, this year with a focus on the environment. Students who take the Judaism and the Environment class will have the opportunity to learn water-harvesting techniques and become better informed about solar energy, water and energy conservation, recycling and other ways to care for the planet.
People can learn more about all Hebrew High has to offer at registration and orientation Aug. 24 at the Tucson Jewish Community Center, 3800 E. River Road.
New-student and parent orientation will begin at 6 p.m. with open registration for all students at 7 p.m. Free pizza will be provided.
This year's course offerings range from a high-energy klezmer band to a comparative study of religious and secular law with Tucson rabbis, judges and attorneys in night court.

Students can explore Jewish history, music, cooking and culture and participate in social-action projects.
High school students have the opportunity to fulfill high school foreign language requirements by studying Hebrew in the Hebrew for Credit program from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday nights.
