The Men's Anti-Violence Partnership 2008 Awards Gala entertained guests Sunday with magic tricks and a breathtaking view of the Santa Catalina Mountains at sunset.
The tricks and view were part of the event's cocktail reception on a balcony at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa, 3800 East Sunrise Drive.
The Men's Anti-Violence Partnership of Southern Arizona — MAP — is a program of the Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault.
The partnership hosted "A Magical Evening" — its third annual awards gala, which included dinner, an awards presentation and entertainment by mental illusionist Rod Robinson. The event benefits the sexual assault center's prevention programs.
The partnership raised more than $80,000 at the gala.
"Both men and women are victims of sexual assault. It is important to have men and women working together to prevent it and to provide support to the victims," said Rowan Frost, a program supervisor for the assault center.
