1 Shoplifting was reported at 11:06 p.m. July 24 at Fry's, 7870 N. Silverbell Road. The night manager told police the following: She saw a teenage boy walk into the liquor department and place a bottle of alcohol in his pants. She confronted him and told him to lift his shirt. He accused her of sexual harassment. She told him he could either hand the bottle over to her or the police. He gave her the bottle and ran away.
2A truck break-in was reported at 9:18 a.m. July 23 at Holiday Inn Express, 8373 N. Cracker Barrel Road. A guest told police someone took his laptop computer valued at $500 from his truck. He said the rear driver's side window was broken. He told police the computer was on the front seat on the passenger's side.
3Theft was reported at 1:45 p.m. July 20 at a house under construction in the 12400 block of North Fallen Shadow Drive. A construction worker told police someone took his tile saw valued at $1,500 and several miscellaneous tools valued at $200 from the house.

PIMA COUNTY
4Theft was reported at 7:14 p.m. July 22 at Foothills Community Church, 3301 W. Overton Road. A church member told deputies the following: A man took a bag of school supplies from a church building and drove away. She did not notice the man was inside the building until she heard the door creak when he left. She ran outside and confronted him but he drove away. She did not know if anything else was missing from the church.
5Theft was reported at 10:26 a.m. July 21 from the pharmacy at Bashas', 8360 N. Thornydale Road. The pharmacy manager told deputies the following: She discovered a box containing 1,200 tablets of Oxycodone was missing from a recent shipment. She called the company and an employee told her all the boxes had been shipped. When the employee suggested she turn the box over, she discovered someone had replaced the white factory tape with clear tape.
6A 20-year-old man was cited on suspicion of underage drinking at 12:05 p.m. July 20 in the 2300 block of West Ruthrauff Road. Someone called the Sheriff's Department after seeing the man lying on the sidewalk yelling that he needed a ride. The man said he had been drinking, slept in an alley all night and was trying to get home. He had a plastic bag containing several cans of beer. According to the report, he grabbed a can of beer from the bag and drank from it in front of the deputy. He said he drank the beer because he was thirsty. He was also charged with drinking in public and released. Deputies gave the man a ride home and he asked if he could have the beer back so he could drink it later.
ORO VALLEY
7Suspicious activity was reported at 11:25 p.m. July 29 in the 12200 block of North Echo Valley Drive. A neighbor told police the following: She checked a vacant house and found a broken rear window and an unlocked door. Police searched the house but did not find anyone inside. According to the report, nothing else was disturbed or damaged.
8A fire was reported at 12:16 p.m. July 28 at Rock Ridge Apartments, 10333 N. Oracle Road. A resident told police the following: He smelled something burning while taking a shower. He investigated and found a fire in the apartment's laundry room. He saw flames between the dryer and the wall. He extinguished the fire with water. Golder Ranch Fire District firefighters removed a portion of the drywall behind the dryer and part of the ventilation ductwork. According to the report, the duct was almost completely clogged with lint and the power cable was melted. A fire marshall told police the fire was accidental and a short in the power cable most likely started it.
9Counterfeiting was reported at 6:02 p.m. July 27 at Circle K, 8035 N. Oracle Road. An employee told police the following: A man placed a $100 bill on the counter to pay for a package of cigarettes. The employee looked at the bill and determined it was fake. He told the man he could not pay for the cigarettes with a counterfeit bill. The man insisted the phony bill was good. He told the man he could wait until the police arrived. The man drove away in a white vehicle.
10 Theft was reported at 8:14 p.m. July 24 at La Canada KinderCare, 10455 N. La Cañada Drive. A woman told police she noticed her purse was missing from the front passenger seat after she picked up her son. She said she parked her car in front of the business and was inside for five minutes. The purse contained her security badge for work, a digital camera, driver's license, Social Security card, several bank cards and $10.
