Two men who were found near the Tucson Mountains Saturday were kidnapped and shot to death, court documents reveal.
The victims — Jose Daniel Alvarez, 23, and Jesus Martinez Gonzales, 24 — were last seen Saturday about 8:45 a.m. at a home before they were found dead inside Feliz Paseos Park near North Camino de Oeste and West Speedway, according to an interim complaint released Thursday.
A witness at the home reported seeing Gildardo Lopez armed with an AK-47 participating in the kidnapping, the complaint said.
On Tuesday, 32-year-old Lopez was taken in to custody on two counts of first-degree murder. He remained there Thursday and is being held without bond.
Lopez is from Mexico and told authorities he does not have legal authorization to be in the United States.
