Northwest Medical Center, RN Med-Surg Unit
BSN, RN
ANA
I am a registered nurse at Northwest Medical Center in Houghton, working in the medical–surgical unit. As a new graduate from the University of Arizona with 7 months of experience, I have cared for patients with diverse conditions. Working with experienced healthcare team members, I focus on safe, compassionate care. During my orientation and nurse residency, I developed clinical skills such as patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring for changes, and care coordination. Managing multiple patients each shift improved my time management, critical thinking, and prioritization. I’ve been exposed to patient groups recovering from surgery, managing chronic illnesses, or undergoing treatment for acute conditions. These experiences have contributed to my professional and personal growth. My goal is to provide patient-centered care by listening to patients’ concerns, educating them, and supporting them and their families during their hospital stay. Though early in my nursing career, I have found the past seven months to be a time of growth and learning. I seek opportunities to deepen my knowledge, enhance my skills, and build confidence. I aim to become a skilled medical–surgical nurse while advocating for each patient’s safety, dignity, and well-being.
