In February 2020, I was offered a New Grad position on a Medical Oncology unit. I quickly realized that despite the extensive hours of study and clinical practice, nothing can truly prepare one for the challenges posed by a pandemic. During this period, I witnessed and experienced resilience, dedication, compassion, and a profound sense of community that defines nursing.
Throughout my career, I have worked in various specialties, including oncology, neurology, hospice care, and medical surgical units.
I firmly believe in the significance of small gestures. Whether it involves offering a patient a warm cloth for their face, taking a trip to the cafeteria for their preferred beverage, or simply holding their hand, these seemingly insignificant acts hold immense value for the patient.

I am committed to demonstrating the qualities that define a nurse and to continue leading for example the new generation of nurses, despite the hardships and burnout that we all face today.
Being here today is a testament to the unwavering support and encouragement provided by my supportive husband and beautiful daughter. Through the love and continued support of my family, I eagerly anticipate many more years of working in this unparalleled profession.
