LONDON — A few Wembley Stadium medics walked onto the field carrying a stretcher, but Nick Fairley wanted no part of getting on it.
The defensive tackle, who along with Ndamukong Suh gave the Lions the NFL’s top pass rush, suffered a potentially serious knee injury in the first half of Detroit’s 22-21 win over Atlanta on Sunday when he collided with Suh after hitting QB Matt Ryan.
Clutching his right knee when he went down, Fairley limped noticeably as he was helped off the field and was taken by cart to the locker room.
- Cleveland Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron sustained a concussion in the first half when he was struck in the head by Raiders safety Brandian Ross while making a diving catch for 21 yards.
- The Rams lost several players in a 34-7 loss to the Chiefs, including defensive end Chris Long with a knee injury and receiver Brian Quick (arm).
