It’s only April, but Arizona is already flipping recruits from their verbal commitments to other teams.
Tight end Bryce Wolma announced on April 6 that he was backing out of a verbal commitment to Northwestern and will instead join Arizona’s 2017 recruiting class.
The Scout.com recruiting service lists Wolma as a three-star recruit and the No. 1 tight end in Michigan, though he might play receiver in college. Wolma is listed at 6 feet 4 inches and 230 pounds.
Wolma verbally committed to Northwestern on April 3, but in a Twitter message on April 6 said that “the timing and process around my commitment created a decision that was not right for me” and that it was “a dream of mine to play at the UofA for a long time.”
Wolma is friends with Rhett Rodriguez dating back to when Rhett still lived in Michigan and Rich Rodriguez, Rhett’s father, was the Wolverines’ coach.
