Sedona remains the most beloved Arizona city among Tripadvisor users.
The Verde Valley town stands out for welcoming boutique hotels such as Adobe Grand Villas and an exceptional food scene that includes the Casa Sedona Inn, Elote Cafe and Vespa Healthy Italian Cafe.
And now Sedona once again was recognized as one of the best destinations in the U.S. in Tripadvisor's Travelers' Choice Destination Awards for 2026. Users of the travel website named Sedona the nation's No. 14 destination, behind Miami, but ahead of San Diego.
TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice Awards are based on the millions of reviews that travelers share on the website.
Sedona and its points of interest have consistently achieved accolades from Tripadvisor over the last decade and a half. Past honors include Sedona being named the No. 1 U.S. wellness travel destination in 2018 and Adobe Grand Villas being honored as the No. 1 small hotel in the U.S. in 2023.

Sedona is not only an easy day trip from Phoenix but also a world-class hub for outdoor and wellness tourism. Its 2026 ranking as Tripadvisor users' No. 14 most popular destination in the U.S. to visit this year is down slightly from its No. 12 rank from 2025.
Sedona is described in a summary on Tripadvisor as "a true oasis, a vacationer’s paradise in the middle of the Arizona desert." Visitors enjoy the red rock buttes and canyons such as Cathedral Rock and Courthouse Butte, hiking opportunities near Bell Rock and in Oak Creek Canyon and the architecture of the Chapel of the Holy Cross.
Sedona's spas and wellness resorts were cited as a highlight and have played a part in other national recognition for Sedona. Conde Nast Traveler named Enchantment Resort and the recently-renovated L'Auberge de Sedona among the 10 best hotels of 2025 in the Southwest and West. The Michelin Guide recognized Ambiente, A Landscape Hotel and El Portal as Michelin Key hotels.
Sedona is an International Dark Sky Community, recognized in 2014 for its protection of the night sky against light pollution. Many Sedona travelers visit for the stargazing, seeing the stars over the backdrop of the city's red rock formations. Tripadvisor users described the night sky as "the best show in Sedona."
