Crosstown Traders, parent company of Old Pueblo Traders, is being sold again, according to reports.
Charming Shoppes Inc., which also owns Lane Bryant and Fashion Bug, is selling the group to Orchard Brands for $35 million cash.
Orchard Brands, based in Beverly, Mass., owns several consumer-catalog clothing businesses including Haband.
Charming Shoppes bought the company from JPMorgan Partners — the private equity arm of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. — in 2005 for $218 million cash, also assuming Crosstown Traders' debt. At the time, Crosstown was the 42nd-largest employer in Southern Arizona, according to the Arizona Daily Star's annual Star 200 survey.
This year, Crosstown Traders was No. 55 on that list, with 976 full-time equivalent employees.
Crosstown Traders president Lori Twomey will remain with Charming Shoppes, where she has been appointed to the position of President of Direct-to-Consumer.
