A break-in at a Tucson gun store early Monday prompted a big police call-out.
The Tucson Police Department’s SWAT team was outside Elite Guns and Ammo, 150 S. Camino Seco, after an early morning break-in.
Aaron Herman, the owner of Elite Guns and Ammo, 150 S. Camino Seco, said he called police after security cameras notified him of intruders. Three or four men broke into the shop, driving an SUV through the door, he said.
“They stole a car and a truck. The stolen car is still on site,” Herman said.
Police spent most of the morning at the center housing the gun store and other businesses, closing a portion of the street to traffic.
A Tucson police K-9 is sent inside Elite Guns and Ammo Monday to look for intruders.
Police left after confirming no intruders were still inside the gun store.
Ywod Weit, the owner of the 2018 Hyundai Tucson found at the scene said he was notified by police that his car had been stolen from his home early Monday. “They told me they took the ignition out,” Weit said. “They broke the glass.”

Herman, who was at the police scene, said he did not yet know how many guns were stolen.
