Thirty-one Super Stop and Minit Market gas stations and convenience stores in Arizona, including nine in the Tucson area, have been rebranded as Giant stations.
The name change is the result of El Paso-based Western Refining, which owns the Giant brand, entering lease agreements with property owners Reay’s Ranch Investors LLC and American Realty Capital Properties.
All 31 properties were owned by Reay’s Ranch until earlier this month.
American Realty Capital Properties finalized a deal to purchase 24 stations belonging to the company for $39.75 million on Jan 16. Pete Villaescusa and Jesse Peron of CBRE represented the seller.
Western Refining already has 36 Giant locations in the Tucson area, according to its website, and 230 retail locations nationally.

The local stations involved in the deal previously sold Shell and other branded gas.
Thirty million gallons of fuel annually will be supplied to these stations by Western’s El Paso refinery, which will increase Western’s retail fuel volume from 10 to 15 percent, according to a news release.
Other areas with rebranded stations include Chandler, San Manuel, Hereford, Benson, Bisbee, Douglas and Globe.
