A pottery and resale store has opened on Tucson’s south side. Talavera pottery, tilting peacocks, metal flowers and yard-sale items such as home and office furniture, sporting goods and collectibles can be found at Ronny G’s Pottery and More, at 1811 S. Park Ave.
Ron Gerson, who co-owns the store with his wife, Diana, previously owned Gerson’s Used Building Materials, before he sold that business and retired several years ago. “The first two years were great,” he said. “But I’m the kind of guy that can’t retire. I’m too conditioned to working, and I needed the money.”
Gerson owns the nearly 2-acre property the store is on, “free and clear. I have no employees, and I own the property. It’s why we can sell stuff for so much less.”
Customers can sell unwanted yard-sale items to Ronny G’s for cash or store credit.

The store does not buy or sell used building materials, however, due to a non-compete agreement with the current owners of Gerson’s Used Building Materials.
Prices on items in the yard-sale area are negotiable. “I won’t take half of the marked price,” Gerson said. “But it depends on how long the item has been there. My theory is move it quickly.”
Ronny G’s is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The store can be reached by phone at 623-1899.
