In Almost, Maine, a town that really isn’t a town since the residents didn’t bother to legally incorporate it, love springs eternal on one star-filled winter’s night.
That’s the premise of John Cariani’s 2004 play “Almost, Maine” that The Invisible Theatre has on its stage through Nov. 24.
Nancy Davis Booth directs the performance as part of IT’s 53rd season, and the cast includes Shannon Elias, Sean Hazen, Jon Lee, Molly McKasson, Sean Patrick and Chelsey Smith.
Sean Hazen and Chelsey Smith are in the cast for Invisible Theatre's production of "Almost, Maine," a midwinter's night love story.
The play follows residents of the fictional not-quite-a-town of “Almost, Maine,” which is “almost not in the U.S. and it’s almost in Canada,” according to program notes.
On this one clear and cold winter night, residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Hearts are broken and mended, for the most part, in what IT promises to be a “delightful midwinter night’s dream.”
