As home decorating gets more creative, so do wall coverings.
This book features interesting alternatives to a coat of paint or new wallpaper.
Fun meets fashionista as author Linda Barker uses glitter, wall tattoos and Swarovski crystals to dress up drab interiors. Some of these techniques, such as mural painting, will require an artist's eye.
Other ideas require less skill with a paintbrush but are just as creative, such as applying rhinestone designs or distressing small squares of gilding over a painted wall.
A list of stores in the back of the book is a helpful starting point for some of the special supplies needed, but many are in England; a little Web surfing may be necessary. Because there aren't detailed step-by-step instructions, "Wall to Wall" might be better suited to advanced beginners or intermediates who have experience working with these techniques.
