Two employees at a South Side business were sprayed with Raid insecticide during a robbery Friday morning, police said.
The robbers, described as young men between the ages of 15 and 20, have not been caught. The incident occurred shortly before noon at the Louis Market, 4009 S. 12th Ave., near West Ajo Way, when a young man walked into the store, jumped over the counter where one of the employees was and sprayed her in the face, said Sgt. Fabian Pacheco, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
He then reached under the counter and grabbed a metal container where money is stored, Pacheco said. As he was taking an undisclosed amount of money from the container, the woman jumped on his backed and motioned to the another woman who was working to hit the robber.
At that time, the co-worker, who had also gotten Raid in her eyes, noticed a second man by the door with what appeared to be a shiny object, Pacheco said. Unsure about whether it was a gun, the co-worker did not assist the woman who was on the robber’s back.

Both of the suspects ran from the store and were last seen heading south on 12th Avenue, Pacheco said. The women were unable to provide a detailed description as their vision was impaired.
They did note that the first man who jumped over the counter was about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighed about 140 pounds. He was wearing a white and tan hooded sweatshirt.
The other robber who was standing by the door was wearing a dark hooded jacket.
Both women were treated at the scene.
