Oktoberfest - A Tucson Tradition

This four-day extravaganza drew more than 40,000 last year - so it's really pretty easy to pretend you're in Munich.

Partake in nonstop entertainment under a huge tent with lots of dancing. There's also a kids' area that includes a jumping castle and lots of games. And you can get a jump on your Christmas shopping at 120 arts and crafts booths.

North University group will meet

The North University Neighborhood Association will meet from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. today at the Himmel Park Library, 1035 N. Treat Ave.

On the agenda are the election of officers, a discussion of University of Arizona boundaries, a crime update and neighborhood mini-grants.

Rita Ranch session has police speaker

Members of the Rita Ranch Neighborhood Association will return from a summer-long hiatus next week to hear a report from Tucson Assistant Police Chief John Leavitt.

The association's monthly meeting will begin at 7 p.m. today in the multipurpose room at Desert Sky Middle School, 9850 E. Rankin Loop.
