Two Tucson women will be inducted into the Arizona Women's Hall of Fame on Monday.
The achievements of Ethel Maynard, the first female black legislator, who died in 1980, and Lucretia Breazeale Hamilton, a plant illustrator who died in 1986, will be showcased during a ceremony and reception at the state Capitol in Phoenix.
Born in 1905, Maynard was a nurse and civil-rights activist who served in the House of Representatives from 1966 to 1972. Hamilton illustrated numerous books about Southwestern plants. She was born in 1908.
Others joining the Arizona Women's Hall of Fame:
● Jessie Gray Bevan, Bisbee, a community leader, state legislator and boarding house owner.
● Patricia Ann McGee, Prescott, a leader of the Yavapai-Prescott Indian tribe.

● Edwynne "Polly" Rosenbaum, , Globe and Phoenix, a former teacher and Arizona's longest-serving legislator, from 1949 to 1994.
The event will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the chambers of the Arizona House of Representatives, 1700 W. Washington St. Light refreshments will be served in the Capitol Museum at a reception following the induction ceremony.
