Say goodbye to Heritage Highlands. The Marana active adult community isn't going anywhere, but it's changing its name to The Highlands at Dove Mountain Monday.
“The name Heritage Highlands did not describe the makeup of this vibrant community, the people who live here and our location. It was the name the developer, US Home, chose,” said Loretta Jankowski, the resident marketing team member who did the research on changing the name, said in a statement.
“Now that the developer is no longer involved we wanted to create our own identity and highlight our location at Dove Mountain. When the community began, Dove Mountain was in the early planning phase, no Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, which hosts the Accenture Match Play golf tournament, and no Gallery Golf Club. Times have changed and Dove Mountain now has its own identity.”
The name change was approved by a residential vote. Signage has changed around the community to reflect the new name. It also has a newly named website that reflects the name change.
