A new Arizona-based poll has Hillary Clinton ahead of Donald Trump by 3 percent, however that lead disappears when the margin of error is factored in.
In a poll of 996 likely Democrat, Republican, Independent and non-declared voters, the OH Predictive Insights today has the Democratic nominee, Clinton, with 45 percent of the vote, while her Republican rival has 43 percent.
The poll gives Libertarian Gary Johnson 4 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein 1 percent of the vote.
The margin of error of the automated poll is 3 percent.
In the last six presidential contests, Arizona was won by a Republican five times. The last Democratic candidate to carry Arizona was Bill Clinton two decades ago in 1996.
Mike Noble, managing partner of OH Predictive Insights and chief pollster, said Trump has failed to catch-up to Trump after the Republican National Convention.

“Donald Trump should be winning in Arizona, however the numbers indicate he likely has stifled his momentum since the GOP convention with the comments regarding the Gold Star family,” said Noble. “The Presidential race is very close at this point in the election season. It is still surprising that a Democratic presidential candidate would carry Arizona if the election were held today. Arizona should be a reliable red state.”
