SEELEY LAKE - Four snowmobilers are alive after being caught in an avalanche in the Mission Mountains northwest of Seeley Lake on Saturday.
According to Missoula County Sheriff's Deputy Bob Parcell, the men were caught in a slide about 1:20 p.m. in the North Fork Bowl area.
Gerry Connell of Seeley Lake Search and Rescue said two of the men were able to dig themselves out. They then dug out another snowmobiler who was who was shaken up, but not badly injured.
The fourth man, who was buried and trapped between two snowmobiles, was unconscious when he was freed, Connell said. After about 10 minutes he was revived.
Search and rescue crews went to the scene to help get the men safely off the mountain. All four rode to the Deer Creek warming hunt on their own.
At the warming hut, an ambulance crew examined the men again and deemed them in good enough condition to go home, Connell said.

The incident comes a day after two snowmobilers died after falling into the water while trying to cross Seeley Lake on their machines.
