Police have identified a woman killed on Feb. 16 when she was struck by a car while standing at an intersection on Tucson's southwest side.
She was 25-year-old Rebecca Inez Garcia, the Tucson Police Department said in a news release Sunday.
Police gave the following account:
Garcia was standing at the southwest corner of West Ajo Way and South Mission Road about 6:15 p.m. Feb. 16 when two vehicles collided in the intersection. One of the cars then struck her.
In the crash, a 55-year-old woman in a green Jeep Renegade, whose name was not released, was turning left at the intersection from northbound Mission onto westbound Ajo when police say she was struck by a southbound black Dodge Charger.
The Charger, driven by a 30-year-old man whose name was not released, then continued through the intersection and struck Garcia, the pedestrian. She was declared dead at the crash scene.

Police say the driver of the Charger was speeding at the time of the crash.
