Cochise County sheriff's deputies are trying to locate a white van after six third-graders told authorities its occupants tried to abduct them near the Cochise-Pima County line Thursday morning.
The incident wasn't reported until Friday when a parent heard boys talking about it at a bus stop in the J-6/Mescal area near Benson, said Carol Capas, a spokeswoman for the Cochise County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies went to the New West Charter School, south of Interstate 10, and talked with the third-grade boys. The boys told authorities they were on their way to school and had just ridden their bicycles across an overpass on I-10 when the van approached them, Capas said.
The boys said between two and four men were in the van, and they tried to get the boys inside the vehicle, according to Capas. The boys refused and rode away on their bikes.

They told authorities the van was white with windows all the way around and the word "church" written on the back in large blue letters. No description of the men in the van was provided.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department was also notified about the van and the attempted abduction.
