A first-degree-murder warrant has been issued for a fourth suspect involved in an apparent drug rip-off that turned into a fatal shooting on the South Side, an official said Tuesday.
Andrew Johannes Rodriguez, 25, has been identified as the fourth suspect in connection with a shooting that killed Oscar Adrian Herrera, 20, said Deputy Dawn Hanke, Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.
Officials said four men went to a home in the 5800 block of South Helena Stravenue, near East Benson Highway and South Alvernon Way, about 1:45 p.m. on Jan. 21 after someone at the residence set up a drug deal.
The four men planned to steal a small amount of marijuana they had arranged to purchase, Pima County Sheriff's Bureau Chief Rick Kastigar said a day after the shooting.
Two of the men — David Ronald Kuhns Jr., 23, and Taylor Mitchell Robbins, 18 — were arrested and booked into Pima County jail Jan. 22 on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the homicide, Hanke said.
